As the end of the first quarter of the year is fast approaching I realise that it is probably a bit late to be welcoming you to 2017. However as this is my first communications for the year I figured I would still do so…
All my good intentions of having a newsletter out to everyone earlier in the year has somewhat been way laid with “other things” demanding my attention. I must confess that most of my focus so far this year has been assisting my husband in his business – with the winding up of his medical practice and transitioning into another one and all the management obligations that go with that. I am pleased to say that as of 1st April 2017 he will be embarking on his new venture and I can then turn my focus back to Telling Tales!
DO YOU NEED A HELPING HAND?
How are you getting on with telling your tales? Have “other things” been detracting you from getting on with it?
For the next 3 months, until the end of June 2017, I will be setting up office at 343 Great South Road Papakura. As these premises have plenty of room I have decided to run some drop in sessions for anyone who would like to drop in and get some help with their tales, or just want somewhere to go and quietly sit and write… If you are interested in coming along just send me an email carolyn@tellingtales.net.nz or phone 027 242 9227 to let me know when you would like to come.
If you are a bit further away from Papakura and would like me to facilitate a session for a group of you closer to home contact me email carolyn@tellingtales.net.nz or phone 027 242 9227 and I will see what I can arrange.
WORKSHOPS
I have my first workshop booked for the year in May with the Baby Boomers group in Manurewa.
If you have a group of friends (minimum 4) interested in having a workshop let me know as I am happy to organise one to meet your needs. Contact me to discuss options.
PRESENTATIONS
I have managed to do seven presentations so far this year covering a range of locations and groups including:
- Sommerset on Karaka Retirement Village
- Eden/Roskill Seniornet
- Bayswater Seniornet
- Birkenhead U3A
- Papakura Seniornet
- Franklin Historical Society
- West Auckland Seniornet
and have another six groups booked in the coming months.
CAN YOU HELP ME?
I am passionate about getting the word out there about the importance of telling ones tales and ensuring that your affairs are in order.
Last year I did over 25 presentations.
I have set a goal for 2017 of doing twice as many pesentations – 50+.
Along with the Telling Tales – The Story of Your Life presentation that I have been doing I have also introduced another topic Ensuring You Do Have the Final Say. Check out more information about these presentations here.
As well as the groups I have been talking to I am keen to widen the range to also include organisations like the Cancer Society, Stroke Foundation, Motor Neurone Society, Retirement Villages and staff in rest homes. If you belong to any of these groups or know of others looking for speakers please contact me I would really appreciate it.
I am willing to get out of Auckland to speak – last year I had 2 visits to Ngatea and am keen to go further afield…
If you do refer me to other groups please let me know so that you can be rewarded if a presentation is booked!
